WE would like to give heartfelt and sincere thanks to the team at the Times office, who squeezed in an appeal for the use of land to enable the 2014 Contraceptive Programme for Dartmoor Hill Ponies to go ahead, in the face of looming print deadlines. Thank you for going the extra mile.
We have been amazed by the number of people among the Times' readership who contacted the Dartmoor Hill Pony Association, offering the use of parcels of land ranging in size from half an acre to 30 acres.
Thanks to the amazing generosity and support from these good people, we now have just enough land to allow the programme to proceed.
What a difference a week makes: a humbling reminder of what can be done when many get together and pool resources.
Thank you so much.
That said, if there are others of you out there who would consider allowing us the use of land parcels 10+ acres in size for five weeks from the beginning of April, we would be grateful to add to the total.
It would mean we can increase the numbers of mares who can be injected.
Once more, thank you.
