WEST Dartmoor and Tavy District U3As came together for a friendly bridge competition at the Tavy Club on October 15. Bob Laverty directed the event, and a light buffet was provided by Sally from the Tavy Club.
There were 12 players from each U3A, and by playing the Chicago system of bridge this enabled all players to meet and get to know one another in a friendly atmosphere.
Anne Dicker was the overall individual prize winner, with Norma Woodcock winning the mystery prize for a spectacular last 'trick'. West Dartmoor U3A won the team prize, a fine glass plaque known as the Val Foster Trophy and it was presented by Elizabeth Johnson, chair of Tavy District U3A.
Both clubs are looking forward to the return event.
