STAFF at Oxfam in Tavistock are trying to trace the owners of an album of photographs they believe was mistakenly donated to the charity in a bag of goods.

The album is full of personal family photographs and was contained within a bag of toys handed into the shop in Market Street on June 8.

Shop manager Jacky Theobald said the store received lots of bags of donations, particularly in school holiday time, and this was a particularly busy day.

?I vaguely remember a chap coming in but all our donations are anonymous anyway so we do not take details,? she said.

?I am very concerned that someone somewhere is totally distraught wondering where their precious pictures are.

?Photos albums are not the sort of thing you look at every day, so somebody may not even be aware that it is missing yet.?

Jacky said she managed several Oxfam shops and this sort of thing happened on occasions when items of great value to people got put into a bag of unwanted goods by mistake.

?We really hope we can shed some light on where these pictures came from and return them to their owner,? she said.
