A POEM written by a West Devon youngster has been published in a new anthology, after winning a competition.

Amelia Sharp (above), 11 from Tavistock, won the competition for the Forward Poetry Company for a second year running to have her poem published in the Poetry Rivals Anthology.

Her poem, Easter Symbols, was written for her former school Whitchurch Primary. Amelia was selected from hundreds of entrants to be published in the 2012 anthology.

Her mother Lorraine said: 'My husband Phil, her brother Adam and I are so proud of her achievement and just want to share this with people who know her and to inspire others to have a go at being creative.'
