TAVISTOCK Rugby Club hosted the first ever Mixed Tag Rugby Tournament. Playing for a trophy, sponsored by Jo Williams of Jo's Bar, Plymouth Road, it was a good day of fun tag rugby.

Despite the fact it was a cold, crisp day, individuals of both genders, all ages and all abilities congregated at the rugby club, suitably dressed in their fancy dress outfits ready to compete for the title.

The team who took the title at the end of the day were 'The Jocks' kitted out in their Scotland kit.

Runners up were 'The Barmy Army' dressed in khaki and camouflage paint and in third place were 'The Chavs' with their make up overdone to perfection and their hair scraped back.

Each player paid £1 to enter the tournament and all the proceeds went towards Tavistock Girls U18s' Rugby tour to Scotland.

The girls would like to thank everyone who supported the event and hopefully see more teams next year.
