A YOUNG rookie lifeguard in Tavistock is already looking for her next 'challenge' after earning her gold standard.
Lucie Prior, aged nine, has been working as a rookie lifeguard at Meadowlands SwimSchool. This entails developing skills and knowledge in water safety, rescue, resuscitation and Lifesaving sports skills.
She has now succeeded in completing the course and has achieved her rookie gold three award.
On Saturday business manager Dave Smith congratulated Lucie and presented her with her certificate and a goodybag in appreciation of her achievement and all the hard work she has put in.
Lucie is now working on the 'challenge' standard — along with other people who have completed the rookie course — and is hoping to work towards her 'master rookie'.
