A POPULAR West Devon drop-in club for people with special needs received a generous donation to help towards running costs.
The Welcome Club, formerly run by Mencap but now run by Robert Owen Communities (ROC), received a cheque for £200 from Tavistock Lions Club.
The money will be put towards the club's running costs and hiring of the Alexander Centre in Tavistock, where the morning drop-in sessions are held on a Thursday and Friday morning from 10am to noon.
The club also holds an evening session on Thursdays from 7pm to 9pm at either the Tavy Club or the Union Inn.
Debbie Newcombe, who has been running the Welcome Club for 19 years, said: 'We are always grateful for donations. The guys here come week in week out.'
The club offers a place for people to get together to socialise, play games and do craft work.
Andy Trigger, who has attended the club for several years said: 'It's brilliant here, I like it very much. I always try to help out.'
