EXBOURNE will be buzzing with activity this weekend as the village fête and Northmoor Team flower festival take place.

St Mary's Church in Exbourne will host the flower festival from Frinday, June 28 to Sunday, June 30. Each church from the team will provide a flower arrangement.

Among the attractions will be a willow sculpture of St Michael made by Sally Vick, as part of the display from the Church of St Michael, in Meeth.

The church will be open from 10am to 5pm each day for visitors, and light refreshments will be available.

The theme for this year's festival is 'Glorious Devon', and organisers are hoping for some stunning displays.

Exbourne Primary School will host the village's church and community fête on Saturday, June 29.

At the fête the school will celebrate its history. Classrooms will be open to see children's work, school memorabilia and photographs. Hatherleigh Gospel Choir and St Mary's Church Choir will provide musical entertainment.

The school will be open from 2.15pm, all are welcome.

The weekend's activities will close with a choral evensong at St Mary's on Sunday, June 30 at 6.30pm. Visiting preacher the Rt Rev Nick McKinnel, Bishop of Crediton, will lead the service.
