HEARTSWELL will be hosting a ‘Wear it Red Day’ in Tavistock tomorrow (Friday) in order to raise money for the charity and heart patients in the South West.

Members of the Tavistock community are being encouraged to wear an item of red clothing during the day in order to show their support for the charity.

Sponsor forms will be available to collect and donations can be made to representatives of Heartswell who will be situated in Tavistock Pannier Market.

Heartswell South West is a registered charity committed to supporting heart patients, their careers and their families in the Westcountry.

With the efforts of volunteers and supporters the charity is able to provide specialist life-saving equipment such as as defibrillators and 3D echo machines to local hospitals and businesses.

David Wells, executive trustee of Heartswell, said: ‘We want to encourage the people of Tavistock to join Wear It Red Day by simply wearing an item of red and making a donation.

‘We will be based in Tavistock Pannier Market, and hope to see as many people as possible come along to support!

‘The charity helps so many people, it important to raise awareness of the charity and the excellent work it does.’
