WITH regards to the letter from Mr Denne in last week's Times, I agree with him on most of his points, except when he came to the democracy part.
Europe is about as democratic as the USSR under Stalin was (and at least he controlled his borders and kept his sovereignty).
When the votes of the three countries rejecting the Lisbon Treaty are ignored by the European elite, the word democracy must have a different meaning in Europe.
The postal service will suffer the same fate as our utilities have, sold to a foreign power at a knockdown price, while Europe stops us from getting into their market.
All governments in Europe look after themselves first and the union second. We on the other hand sell our family silver without a reciprocal arrangement.
All Mr Denne has proved is that our MEPs are incompetent and dangerously useless.
Last week our government in London was saying we had to keep our opt-out from the working time directive; at the same time as the labour MEPs wanted to scrap it.
I rest my case; but just one last thought — what has it to do with anyone else except use, when we have a problem with the UK postal service in the UK?
