YOU gave extensive coverage to the views of Ms Ashcroft in your report of the Dartmoor National Park Authority?s decision to accept the case for continued dry training by the services on Cramber Tor; the views of those who had to make a (difficult) decision were not reported.

Perhaps you would allow one quotation from a member in response to Ms Ashcroft?s claim that ?the committee seemed to believe their job was to consider wider defence issues, which it is not, their job is to defend the National Park?.

?We do not cease to be citizens on becoming members of the National Park Authority.?
