WATER rates will be put under the spotlight at a public meeting being held in Tavistock today (Thursday). The meeting, in the Bedford Hotel at 10.30am, has been organised by Water Voice South West.
The organisation will be examining proposed increases in water prices, which are likely to rise during the next five years. South West Water?s company plans will also be scrutinised by the water watchdog.
Other items will be a presentation by the campaign group Surfers Against Sewage on sludge disposal on agricultural land.
Water Voice South West is the statutory Ofwat customer service committee representing the interests of water consumers in this region.
