CHILDREN at a West Devon pre-school will finally have a warm winter thanks to a cash boost to install a much- needed heating system.

Staff at Courtlands Pre-school in Tavistock were delighted to receive a cheque for £2,000 from Devon County Councillor for Tavistock Debo Sellis' locality budget.

The pre-school has been running for several decades and a couple of plug in heaters on wheels are used to heat the building before the children arrive.

As they get hot and pose a risk to the children, the heaters are then shut in the kitchen out of the way.

Pre-school manager Nicky Kingman said: 'The fact that we will have heating, radiators on the walls and on a timer is just going to be like heaven. It will make such a difference, it will be so much nicer for the children to come in from outside into a nice warm room.

'Funds are limited at the moment so we are really grateful for this.'

The pre-school, as a registered charity, relies on the help and support of the community.

Anyone who could offer voluntary assistance to tidy up the garden, or support by donating toys, funds or can offer help in anyway can do so by contacting the pre-school on 07791 906891 or 07717 507434 or visit http://www.courtlandspreschool.co.uk">www.courtlandspreschool.co.uk
