THE Volunteer Centre in Okehampton has a number of new volunteering opportunities this month. l MOOR TREES is an organisation dedicated to restoring areas of wild natural forest on Dartmoor. They are always in need of volunteers to help with the project, from collecting seeds to tree planting. If you would enjoy working in the open and planting for the future why not find out more about volunteering for this organisation. l THE EATING DISORDERS ASSOCIATION would like a self-help network volunteer for this area. You do not need to have suffered from an eating disorder but if anyone has personal experience of a disorder they MUST be recovered and out of treatment for a minimum period of two years. You will need to be able to show empathy, be able to listen and willing to attend training. l If you cannot commit time to volunteering on a regular basis why not put your name down on our ?one-off? register to give as little as an hour or perhaps a day to a special one-off event. These sorts of events are usually put on by local voluntary organisations and are held in the local area. All volunteering time is greatly valued. l Do you enjoy OKEHAMPTON CARNIVAL? The carnival is growing every year and the committee needs more helpers on the day to help events run smoothly. If you are interested in any of the above opportunities or would like to know more about volunteering please contact The Volunteer Centre, The Ockment Centre, Okehampton, telephone 01837 55047, e-mail: vcentre@ okehamptoncvs.org.uk alternatively the centre is open Monday to Thursday, 10am to 2pm.
