A MARKET, which was set up in Walkhampton after the village shop closed in 2007, is celebrating ten years of operation. The community run market and coffee shop, which was inspired by a similar set-up in Bere Ferrers, has been providing a place for villagers to meet as well as local produce for purchase. It is a place where birthdays are celebrated and other special occasions and where help and support is given to those who experience loss. Organisers said its success was down to everyone mucking in.
