PEOPLE can learn about Tavistock's medieval abbey and the town's connection to Devon Great Consols and the Duke of Bedford, at a guided walk on Sunday April 15.

The walk, guided by Andrew Thompson, is part of the Tamar Valley Spring Trail Festival and Tavistock Music and Arts Festival.

It will last approximately an hour and a half, and participants are asked to bring sturdy shoes and suitable clothes. The walk is mostly on hard surfaces, lanes and paths and is suitable for children aged 10 and over. Dogs will not be allowed on the walk.

The event will start at 11am, meeting outside the Tourist Information Centre at Court Gate, and will cost £3 per person.

Booking is essential as places are limited — contact the Tamar Valley AONB on 01822 835030 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
