ANYONE fancying a walk across an interesting part of Dartmoor accompanied by a moor expert is welcome to join in today (Thursday). The five-mile walk starts at 10.30am from Norsworthy Bridge car park at the northern end of Burrator Reservoir. The event will be led by Bob Bruce, who is one of the Dartmoor Preservation Association's experts on the archaeology and heritage of Dartmoor, and his walk will include Leather Tor — affectionately known as Dartmoor's miniature mountain —Sharpitor, Stanlake and Leather Tor Farm. Mr Bruce will be showing examples of Bronze Age archaeology, long houses tin working, blowing houses and a potato cave! The event, organised by the DPA, is free and anyone interested is welcome to join the walk.
