MARIE Curie Cancer Care are appealing to the adventurous people of West Devon to take part in their first ever abseil event from Home Park, Plymouth Argyle Sunday, May 8.

'The abseil will take place from the roof of the main stand down to alongside the pitch. It's about 100 foot but seems more due to feeling of exposure you have as you walk along the roof,' said Jon Duckham regional events manager for the charity.

'We are hoping that up to 200 people will take part and raise money for the Devon Nursing Service that provides free home based nursing care to cancer patients in their own homes.'

The abseil is open to anyone over the age of 16 and cost £10 to enter. Family and friends can come along and support the abseilers for free so it should be a great atmosphere!
