A FASCINATING walk around the Skaigh valley between Belstone and Sticklepath will reveal and explore secrets of a bygone age on Sunday April 17.
Two previous guided walks around the valley have uncovered long-forgotten signs of human endeavour, and the forthcoming walk will visit Skaigh Warren armed with an estate map from 1909 to see what remains of four summerhouses, as well as fountains, a hunting lodge, and a 'pheasantry'.
The two-hour expedition led by Chris Walpole leaves Belstone Village Hall at 1.30pm, aiming to be back in good time for cream teas in the hall.
A section of lane walking can be avoided by joining the group at around 1.40pm in the open area by Skaigh Stables.
Dogs are welcome, under control, and walkers are asked to wear walking boots, as there are some steep areas.
Donations will be invited for hall funds, with a suggested donation of £2 for the walk only, or £5 to include a cream tea.
