YOUNG volunteers are needed for performing arts workshops in the community of Dartmoor. MED Theatre, which is based in Moretonhampstead, is launching a new grant-funded project called 'Get Creative', on which young people aged 16-25 are being offered a free opportunity to receive tuition in leading a performing arts workshop in the community. The project is ideal for individuals who are interested in learning more about community work, volunteering or teaching the performing arts, whether music, dance or drama. There will be three one-day tuition workshops and then those taking part will work together to lead a workshop in the community on the fourth day. Groups of up to four volunteers will work closely with a professional mentor, who will support them through all parts of the process. Those interested in applying should contact MED Theatre for an application form. Places are limited so early applications are advised. The course will run in May and June.
