AS 2013 draws to an end, Tavistock Area Support Services is looking for volunteers to help in the new year.

Anyone who can spare a few hours a week, fortnight or a month are being sought to help give hope to others.

TASS is looking for volunteers for: driving minibuses or take a person to an appointment; become a be-friender or someone to help with shopping or collect a prescription; help at one of the nine village centres; help at The Anchorage Centre; fundraising; computer and administration skills.

All the activities and transport are delivered by a core of volunteers, who are the 'unsung heroes' of the community — and 2014 will be no different with new activities and services being introduced and even more.
