VISITORS flocked to the edge of the river at Milton Combe over the Easter weekend to cheer on their lucky ducks at the annual village duck race.

There was an excellent turnout for the race and together with the raffle, the profit made was £316, which will go to village hall funds.

During the event, John Thacker was awarded the Gill White Cup for service to the community in Milton Combe. The Gill White Cup has been awarded for many years to a person who is deemed to have served the community in the previous year.

John has quietly done odd jobs at the village hall, including mending things, helping prepare for and clearing up after events and more.
