Cullompton Colts 45

TAVISTOCK were beaten by a well drilled side in a hard fought game. Two new faces and several players out of position meant Tavistock needed time to settle which was never allowed.

The first half ended at 14-0 but five tries followed after the visitors used their possession well and found space to attack.

New prop James Field and new threequarter Kieran Stribley played well and look to be excellent additions to the squad. Sam Lawson, playing his first full game, rucked and tackled well. Braithwaite played well in a strange position of full back, despite carrying an injury sustained early in the game.

Despite the heavy scoring against them, Tavistock put Cullompton under intense pressure for ten minutes at the end of the game but narrowly failed to cross their line.

Even the swift Lobban could not penetrate a well organised defence, but not for want of trying. Mark Bond played at loose head prop for the first time and gave his opposite number a hard time.

This week?s game is against Ivybridge Colts.
