GARDENERS in Belstone will once again be opening their gardens to the public this Sunday, May 15 in aid of Children's Hospice South West.

Belstone Friends' Group will be hosting their 'Secret Gardens of Skaigh', where 13 gardens on Skaigh Lane in Belstone will be open for people to look around.

The gardens will be open from 11am-5pm, and entry is by programme, which costs £4 for adults, and is free for children. Visitors will be able to see as many gardens as they wish throughout the day. Ploughman's lunches, cakes, and drinks will be on sale during the event at Stonelynk.

Parking will be available in the field opposite Stonelynk or in the village car park, with plenty of signs directing visitors to parking, refreshments, plants for sale and programme, with maps provided showing all of the gardens.

Edwina Hill, one of the event organisers, said: 'Children's Hospice South West exists to provide a vital service for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

'The money to keep these wonderful hospices working relies almost entirely on the generosity of people in the South West, so it is important that the word is spread of the work carried out.'

As well as great gardens and food, there will also be an opportunity to talk to volunteers at CHSW's hospices.
