AROUND 25 beautifully restored vintage vehicles will be trundling off on a run around the Okehampton area this month in an event organised by the North and East Dartmoor Vintage Working Society.

The vehicles, ranging from 1930s tractors to a steamroller, will leave Mole Avon at Okehampton at 11am on Sunday April 13, providing an unusual and colourful procession for anyone with an interest in old machinery.

Mike Bailey of the working society said the club meets once a month in the Post Inn at Whiddon Down.

?It?s a very friendly sort of club. We do competition ploughing matches, go to fetes and events, there?s a big road run in Cornwall in April and in September, we are going to hold a working weekend at Goosiford Farm,? said Mike.

?We thought it would be good to do this run round Okehampton, it?s a bit of fun and people might find it interesting to come along and see the vehicles.

?People have spent a lot of time on them. You don?t realise when you see them how much work has gone into them ? people don?t buy them in that state, they?ve usually been dumped in hedges!?

The vintage vehicle run will leave Mole Avon at 11am, travelling towards Okehampton, Belstone, Skaigh and Sticklepath before stopping for lunch at Whiddon Down.
