A FALCONRY display, a hat competition, skittles and throwing sacks of hay will keep the crowds entertained a the Lydford Summer Fayre on Saturday, July 22. The Sports Field committee has worked on various fundraising activities this year and it now has its sights fixed on the rebuilding of the dilapidated sports pavilion. The event on the sports field starts at noon. There will also be a ram roast, various stalls, a licensed bar, refreshments and games. Draw tickets will be on sale. To enter the hat competition, just design and wear an original hat for the judging. There will also be the chance to guess the name of a lamb and relieve stress by smashing crockery. At 2.30pm there will be a family dog show, with classes for young and old, as well as for the smartest and scruffiest dog. Admission to the fayre is 50p for adults and 25p for children. Stalls can be hired at £10. Phone 01822 820263 for more details.
