VANDALS who struck at Yelverton Play Park last Saturday evening could force its closure.

Ric Cheadle, who led the park project, said a sign was uprooted and damaged: “We believe it happened on Saturday evening. Someone saw a group of youngsters in the park. The sign telling people about the park was wrenched out and stamped on, breaking it. The park has previously been vandalised, graffiti sprayed on play equipment and the picnic table destroyed. The park is completely run by volunteers. It would be such a shame to see it closed by this mindless behaviour.” To support the park, which has undergone a major revamp, go to www.yelvertoncommunityprojects.org
