AN application to build 16 new local needs homes in Horrabridge is being recommended for rejection by Dartmoor National Park Authority. The application, by Williams Developments SW Ltd, is for 12 two bedroom houses and four three bedroom houses on land at the rear of the New Park estate in Horrabridge. Although West Devon Borough Council says there is ?considerable evidence of local need? for additional housing in the village, the park authority is concerned about the design of the homes, the accommodation and number of dwellings and deficiency of car parking spaces. Planning officers at their meeting tomorrow (Friday) will recommend refusal of the scheme, pending re-working by the developer, to provide a more satisfactory form of development.
