Yeovil 3 Tavistock 1st X1 1 TAVISTOCK?S 1st Xl men?s hockey team travelled all the way to Yeovil with a slightly depleted squad but still looking to do the double over the Somerset side. Tavistock started brightly, with Tom Honey and Dom Lovett constantly harassing the home defence. Against the run of play, Tavistock were unlucky to go a goal behind, when the rebound from Bradley?s pads was slapped into the back of the net. It was not long before Tavistock were back on equal terms, when Lovett stole the ball from the Yeovil defence, rounded the keeper and slotted the ball home. The second half was a similar affair, with end to end attacking from both sides. Yeovil gained the lead again from a contentious penalty corner but this seemed to fire the Tavistock side, who continued to press for that extra goal and created panic in the home side. Yeovil put the game out of reach, with about five minutes to go, when the impressive Bradley could not pull out any more saves and a loose ball was struck home. This week?s match is home against East Devon with a 4.30pm start.
