Tavistock U12s 19 Plymstock U12s 0 TAVISTOCK completed their season with some fine rugby in the driving rain on Sunday morning. The forwards soon took control securing loose ball at the rucks and pushing forward in the mauls. The first score came from one such ruck with Callum Thompson gathering the ball and bursting through the Plymstock defence. Next it was the turn of the backs? quick service from scrum half Philip Snell and good hands from number 10 Jack Morgan put centre Elliot Hoyte in from 5 metres. A solid defence kept Plymstock out. Constant hard work from the Tavistock side paid off with another forward try, coming this time, from prop George Harold. Morgan added two conversations. Well worth a report was the friendly also played on Sunday against a touring Worcester A side in which Tavistock earned the respect of this well organised team losing by the only try scored. Much of the honours in the match go to the strong tackling of Jack Morgan, Callum Thompson, Barnaby Frost and possibly the tackle of the season from second row Mark Friend. The squad next meet up for the end of season barbecue on May 15.
