MORE than 70 people attended the Tavistock Youth Café Plus and Tavi Specials combined Christmas party in the Tavy Club. TYCP celebrate the start of their fifth year and the Specials their fourth in style! They thanked club owner Sally Perkins for a fabulous party, which included music from 'Disco Dave.'

Allen Lewis from both groups said: 'How lovely it was to see so many all enjoying a great time. We have every reason to celebrate as so many people have made friends from TYCP and the Specials. Money raised so far by both groups in just over four years stands at £43,500, which is fantastic!

'TYCP has set itself as a role model for parent led and volunteer groups all over Devon and we are very proud of this. The Specials have become such a professional group especially as we are an official club in our own right and intend on opening our doors to more forms of disabilities next year. It is a privilege for me personally to be a part of both groups I cannot believe how many friends I have made.'

Sheena Lewis , treasurer of the Tavi Specials , presented flowers and a lovely inscribed vase to chairperson Cathy Sharp of TYCP and thanked her for her idea to start the youth cafe group in 2007.
