NEWLY formed Walkham Valley Cricket Club notched up their first win of the season against an excellent young Brentor side on Sunday at the memorial field.

Batting first, Brentor were kept to a score of 107 all out due to some excellent catches and tight fielding. Ralph and McMahon, opening for Walkham Valley, soon began scoring well, hitting superb shots to the long boundary, making a good opening partnership of 45.

Nimmo and Mortimore also scored well against some accurate and fast Brentor bowling.

After a middle order batting collapse, notably Kay and Shutt (senior), it was left to Shutt (junior) and Long to score the remaining runs against tight and clean fielding from Brentor.
