THE STICKLEPATH and Okehampton Fireshow Committee is urgently appealing for wood to build the set of this year's 30th anniversary production 'Beguyling', due to take place on November 2.

A sharp decline in wood donations for the show, especially from regular suppliers and merchants, reflect how the recent recession has affected businesses and individuals alike.

The build team urgently needs more donations of good quality used timber to ensure there is enough wood to start the build in October, and ensure that Guy can go up in flames!

As this is a public event, the committee can only accept certain types of wood, including used scaffold planks and large pieces of 4x2 and 4x4. They cannot accept tanalised or painted wood, MDF or chipboard.

They also cannot accept any unsolicited donations as the land used is owned by the National Trust.

If you know of, or have a quantity of, wood that you would like to donate then please contact the committee, as collection can often be arranged.
