FOR the very first time Christians from Tavistock will be coming together for a special celebration in the town hall on Easter Monday.

The celebration, called 'Risen', will include a mix of traditional hymns and more modern songs, all led by Tavistock's Unite Youth Choir — comprising young people from across the town's churches and conducted by Tracy Harding.

Tavistock Methodist Church minister the Rev Jeff Moles said: 'We can sometimes fail to celebrate Easter with the joy and enthusiasm that we should for such an amazing and world-changing event. This is a chance to put that right and to do it as a family of Christians from all traditions coming together in the centre of our community.'

David Palmer, of King's Church and chairman of TACT (Tavistock Area Christians Together), said: 'This will be a fantastic evening of praise, celebration and declaration of the Lord Jesus.'

The event, which starts at 7.30pm, is being organised by TACT. Admission is free.
