KICKING with a wind at their backs Zeal went ahead after 20 minutes when Harley Cann was put through on goal and chipped the keeper. Ten minutes later Nick Pollard scored, again chipping the visitors? keeper.

With Woodbury having the advantage of the elements in the second half it seemed that missed chances could cost Zeal.

However with the Zeal defence well marshalled by Reg Wonnacott, holding firm, and Adam Cann in the Zeal goal making some good saves Zeal proceeded to hit Woodbury on the break and went three up when Pollard was brought down in the area and Steve Pillivant converted the penalty. Zeal then went four up with 15 minutes left when Harley Cann scored from close range. Woodbury scored twice in the last 10 minutes, however Zeal well deserved the victory and passage to the next round.

Zeal were away to Pinhoe the previous week but despite reducing a three goal deficit to one with two great goals from Nick Pollard and Harley Cann, and then hitting the bar, Zeal came away losing 4-2 when the game was made safe for Pinhoe with a disputed penalty. This week home to Lympstone KO 2.30pm.
