A THIEF with a taste for detective television dramas has repeatedly targeted a stall in the Tavistock Pannier Market.

During a three week period the thief has stolen DVD boxed sets of a similar genre.

Police have said the theft happened early in the morning and that the thief was believed to have entered the stall in question, which was outside the main market hall, by unzipping the cover.

The original theft was of a complete Inspector Morse box set.

A police spokesperson said: ‘It [Inspector Morse] was taken from the top of the pile, suggesting that the first theft was a quick, opportunistic matter.

‘Two weeks later four individual box sets of Midsomer Murders and four individual box sets of Blue Murder were taken, so it would appear that the thief had planned the second incident.

‘If you have been offered any of these then please contact the police as you may have the name of a person involved in these offences.’
