Tavistock 2nds 6 Falmouth 1 THE unbeaten run rolls on, as Tavistock hockey team encountered a difficult and motivated Falmouth. The home side were thinking the game was going to be a simple encounter but the first half proved anything but. Tavistock dominated the early period and soon went ahead via a superb short corner strike by Edwards. The second shortly followed with Way picking up his rebounded shot from the keeper?s pads. Structure seemed to diminish and the urgency that Falmouth were indicating flustered the normally solid back line of Tavistock and Falmouth found themselves back in the game when they scrambled in an uncleared ball. The second half proved to be more structured for Tavistock, with much more determination and with the normal networking of passes returning to their game Tavistock applied the pressure. Further goals from Way and Andrews culminated in a healthy scoreline and once the pressure was eased, Tavistock?s running of the ball and changes in direction led to greater domination of the game. Tavistock travel to Bodmin this weekend in the hope of concluding the season unbeaten. Bodmin are in second spot and also playing for promotion, therefore this match should be the toughest match this season ? especially as their 1st XI have already been promoted!
