UMBERTO Bergonzini, instructor of the Ju Jitsu Tavistock Club, recently received his nidan or second degree black belt in the art of Go Ju Ryu Ju Jitsu.
Umberto said: ?During my last training trip to Italy, I was invited by Maestro Piero Rovigatti 8th dan Go Ju Ryu Ju Jitsu to take the grading examination for my nidan.
?I was pleased to be asked, but at the same time very nervous knowing Maestro Rovigatti?s high standards. My hard work and the help of my students paid off ? I got my nidan?
The club meets on Tuesdays between 7.30pm and 9pm and Thursdays between 8pm and 9pm.
