Barnstaple/Exeter
U18s 22
Tavistock Girls U18s 22
TAVISTOCK travelled to Barnstaple for the first time to find they would be mixing teams with the newly formed club and the experienced side of Exeter Saracens.
It was played with great determination and will to win as well the girls willing to play out of position, in order to expand their skills as players. The game see-sawed and neither team was ever ahead by more than seven points. Elspeth Mackeller had a great game on the wing, running in her first ever try and followed it up with a second.
Another debutant try came from Ruth Blakey who played her first full game competitively in the front row and had a tremendous game often setting a good platform for her backs to run off. Nielson and Daymond playing on opposite sides were as always very strong and showed strength in ball winning and with ball in hand.
Player of the match was Kat Hair at fly half who put in numerous ball winning tackles to gain possession for her team.
