Crediton U15s 40 Tavistock U15s 0 DESPITE battling hard, Tavistock came away with a second defeat by Crediton but with a much lower points deficit than the previous encounter. For the first quarter of the game Tavistock looked capable of matching the strong Crediton side. However the significant difference between the sides was the standard of tackling and the first two tries conceded by Tavistock were from solo runs by the Crediton full back. By contrast, Crediton's third try just before the end of the first half was a good team effort from their pack as a copy book rolling maul saw them score under the posts. Crediton repeated the performance early in the second half for their next score. Tavistock steadied things for a while and defended well to hold up several Crediton attacks on the line, but then conceding two more tries from further out as a result of missing crucial tackles. Tavistock saw their best period of play during the final quarter of the match and put their hosts under enormous pressure for a considerable spell. However, despite a series of lineouts and scrums just short of the Crediton line the home side tackled and defended magnificently to deny Tavistock any points. The Crediton score was boosted by a high standard of kicking which saw just one missed conversion.
