TAVISTOCK U13s played away against Exeter Chiefs on Sunday, and put up a strong fight.
Tavistock kicked off, and good runs by Morgan and Braidy set Charlie up for the first of his six tries of the match. Exeter soon retaliated with a well worked try under the Tavistock posts, and by the end of the first half has exposed the visitor's weak spot, with four more tries.
Going into the second half 25 points down, Tavistock could have been forgiven for losing heart, but after a pep talk from the coaches their team spirit kicked in, and a terrific second half saw four more tries from Tavistock, two converted by Matthew, with two more from Exeter.
The high points for Tavistock were their solid scrum, and some great play from Angus, Bert and Morgan.
If the first half tackles had been more on target this could have been a better result for Tavistock but the full time whistle went with a deserved win to the Exeter boys.
Seven of the boys have earned a place in the West Devon U13s squad.
