Tavistock U12s 19 Kingsbridge U12s 28 THE under 12s acquitted themselves brilliantly against their arch rivals on Sunday morning. Tavistock won the battle for territory, they won the battle for possession, they won the line outs time after time and most of all they won the respect of a Kingsbridge team used to having it all their own way. Some crashing tackling from Tavistock helped stop the opposition superstar from breaking out in the first 10 minutes. However the big runner soon had Kingsbridge two tries ahead. After a long period of sustained pressure Tavistock hooker Rollo Whitehouse found a small gap in the Kings defence to pull one back. The Tavistock three quarters continued to probe the defence and finally a quickly taken penalty by fly half Jack Morgan brought the teams level on tries. After the turn round Tavistock rarely left the opposition?s line. A clever blind side switch by scrum half Philip Snell put wingman Josh Lesson in from 5 metres putting the home side ahead. Kingsbridge are not used to being behind and it was not long before they retained a slim two point lead as once more the Kingsbridge big man kicked and ran in a solo effort to put the deserved win beyond the home side.
