TUNE into Atlantic FM over the next few weeks and the classical sounds of Bere Alston singer Tyrone Piper will be coming over the airwaves. Tyrone, who recently won the radio station?s talent competition voted for by listeners, had the prize of recording a single to be played on air plus £300 in cash. His version of ?Nessun Dorma? will be ?A listed? until Christmas and in the meantime Tyrone will be recording a CD of ten songs which will again be promoted by Atlantic FM. The radio station has agreed to give the 36-year-old singer maximum air time over the next 12 months. Tyrone?s talent has earned him the opportunity to work with world famous tenor Jose Cura ? only one of 15 singers worldwide selected for a special masterclass ? and he has performed with the New Devon Opera Company, South West Opera and the Gilbert and Sullivan Fellowship in Plymouth. He shares the same teacher as the winner of TV?s Britain?s Got Talent Paul Potts, who believes the Devon singer has the talent to make it all the way to the top.
