OKEHAMPTON Golf Club ladies? section played The Express and Echo foursomes qualifying round in July. Two couples go through and they are Sylvia Caunter and Mary Keir, and Amanda Clifford and Mo Huggins.

The July stableford was won by Chris Turner with 39 points, second was Penny Deakin 37 points, and Cherry James was third with 34 points (back nine).

The August medal took place on the sixth. First was Amanda Clifford net 70, second Marcia Holwill 71. (back nine) and third Mary Keir 71.

The Sheelah Creasy team played their last match away against Bigbury and lost 3-4. The team has had some good results but could not quite make it through to the quarter-finals.

Since the last report, the county scratch team has played two matches. The ladies lost 2-5 away at Woodbury, but won away at Tiverton 5-2.

This team has also had some good results and the ladies wait to see their placing in the division.

The County Lady Vets organised a Flitch competition in June which was played at Staddon Heights and it was won by Okehampton?s Mr and Mrs Roger Vick.
