TWO young women from Tavistock have successfully completed a course for the Rotary Youth Leadership Award.
The RYLA involves a residential course comprising an intensive programme of outdoor activities and tasks aimed at building skills, along with a series of projects and lectures from eminent high achieving members of the South West community.
The objective is to inspire and develop confidence and ability of young persons aged between 18 and 28, to teach them to become leaders in their own community and to plan for themselves interesting and useful lives.
Yelverton Rotary Club raised the sum of £1,400 to pay for two candidates from Tavistock, Hannah Kemish and Amy Kitley, who both successfully completed the course.
Rotary Club president Terry Donnelly is pictured presenting the award certificate to Hannah Kemish, and club youth activities chairman Sandra Dineley-Jones presenting it to Amy Kitley.
