OKEHAMPTON Town Council is looking for two new councillors following the resignation of two of its members.

The town council has 14 seats, and following the resignations of Kay Bickley and John Stockwell, the council is again without a full complement of councillors.

A by-election to fill the vacancies will be held if by Wednesday, February 13, ten electors for the ward give notice in writing claiming such an election to the returning officer.

If no such notice is given, the town council will fill the roles by co-option.

The council is hoping to attract a wide range of applicants representing and reflecting the make-up of the community served by it.

If you would like to give notice in writing claiming a by-election, write to West Devon Borough Council, Kilworthy Park, Tavistock, PL19 0BZ.

For those thinking about becoming a town councillor and who would like to find out more information, the town clerk or one of the councillors would be pleased to answer any questions or have an informal discussion.

This can be arranged by calling the town council on 01837 53179, or calling in at the town hall.
