TWO fundraisers are hoping to cycle their way past their £500 target for Cancer Research UK.

From April 6, John Guy from North Tawton and Karl Little from Exbourne will cycle from Okehampton to Land's End, and back again, all in a three-day period.

Within the first few days of fundraising, they have raised almost £400 of their initial £500 target, and are hoping they can smash their first target.

John revealed a celebrity had inspired the duo's challenge: 'I was mainly inspired by the challenge John Bishop did for Sport Relief, and wanted to try something similar but on a smaller scale.

'The reason I chose to support Cancer Research UK was a scare I had myself with a lump. It turned out to be nothing to worry about, but more seriously a friend of mine has just had a major operation due to cancer, having two vertebrae removed, and four ribs cut.

'Karl lost his grandad to cancer, so he also feels strongly about the cause.'

John has set up a Just Giving web page so people can donate online. He is also in the process of setting up a Facebook group page so that everyone can track his and Karl's progress on their travels.
