MEDIAEVAL mayhem will be wreaked at Castle Drogo this month when one of England?s premier re-enactment societies pays a very unusual visit.

The Wolfshead Bowmen will set up camp in the grounds of England?s newest castle enacting the story of Robin Hood and his Merry Men in an outlaw trail for visitors to follow around the estate.

There will also be daily hour long archery displays, archery speed shooting contests and ?have a go? archery sessions where everyone can try out their bows.

The Wolfshead Bowmen are a company of archers united in common allegiance to the longbow ? the company is made up of costumed men, women and children who demonstrate the ancient art of ?shooting in the bow?.

The company authentically recreate aspects of life in the middle ages including encampment, period music and armed combat ? they even eat food prepared to traditional mediaeval recipes and cooked over an open fire.
