THE MP for West Devon and Torridge, Geoffrey Cox, last week visited the site of a proposed wind turbine near Milton Abbot, to hear the views of residents objecting to the scheme.

MABRAKE (Milton Abbot, Bradstone and Kelly) protestors are concerned about the effect the two 220ft turbines would have if they were to be erected at Ramsdown.

The area borders the Tamar Valley area of outstanding natural beauty and Dartmoor National Park and MABRAKE feels the turbines will create a visual intrusion. Residents are also concerned about noise levels.

But developers say the scheme would meet ecological, noise, landscape and vision guidelines required by the Government.

A planning application for the turbines is expected to be submitted to West Devon Borough Council by Christmas.
