INWARDLEIGH Parish Council will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, October 3 to discuss an ongoing planning application for a 78-metre wind turbine at Waytown.
The proposed turbine would be located approximately three kilometres south west of the village, surrounded by agricultural land. It is for a single wind turbine with a maximum hub height of 50 metres and a tip height of up to 78 metres.
With an installed capacity of up to 0.85 megawatts, the turbine could power around 475 homes, displacing in the region of 24,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions during its 25-year lifespan.
The council is holding the meeting to gauge public reaction to the plans, following a public meeting held in June by the developers, ClearWinds and Energy4All.
The meeting starts in Folly Gate Parish Hall from 7.30pm, with plans available to view from 7pm.
